Inspired Living Book Club with Suzanne

Everything takes practice, including courage, joy, peace and success. In this inspirational book club you will find the inspiration and motivation to create the life you want to live. Together, we will invoke a peaceful place to come and share ideas and dreams with others who want to make a difference in their life and in the lives of others. For the September gathering we will read Tuesdays with Morrie and vote on the book for October.
Suzanne Ballantyne, B.A., M.A. - or “Zan” - is an artist, a writer, a mother, a trainer, an educator, a volunteer and a practicing peaceful spirit. Along with yoga and meditation practice, Zan walks, cycles and participates in other sports to play with her children and stay actively engaged in her whole life.

Mindful Based Stress Reduction Fall Series with Celeste

Stress is a frequent part of our complex world, significantly decreasing our physical and emotional health as well as lowering our everyday quality of life. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction is a technique that enables you to make conscious choices instead of reflexive, automatic responses. By utilizing this method, you learn how to live “mindfully” (in the present moment). This meditative process helps you quiet the mind and find balance in an oftentimes chaotic world. This approach, created in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn, has proven to be successful and continues to thrive almost 30 years later.
This series is instructed by Celeste Cooper-Peel. Celeste has a Masters in Health Education and has been teaching structured stress reduction classes and mindfulness techniques since 1996. Her accomplishments include envisioning and building an award winning wellness program, being a Certified Health Education Specialist and Registered Yoga Teacher. Most of all, she practices what she preaches and enjoys being a health educator, yoga instructor and mindful wife and mom.
Introduction to Flow Yoga with Mary

Begin the conversation between your body and mind in this 2 hour Introduction to Flow Yoga intensive. You will practice basic yoga postures taught with an emphasis on alignment, breath work, and relaxation. Plenty of time will be allotted for questions regarding the physical poses, the history and the philosophy of yoga. This is the perfect class for those new to yoga or those who wish to work on the fundamentals to strengthen their foundation. You will feel refreshed and prepared to enjoy our weekly, on-going, Level 1 drop-in classes after this in-depth Introduction to Yoga taught in Vinyasa Flow style.
Global MALA Raleigh - September 19 - 21, 2008
On September 19th - 21st, the Triangle yoga community unites with yogaSPARK as studios, teachers and organizations around the area raise awareness of the many styles, benefits and practices of yoga. Join the celebration! On this yogaSPARK weekend, we celebrate the International Day of Peace, the Autumnal Equinox and the Global Mala Project with our joined intention for creating peace and unity.
Now in its second year, the goal of the Global Mala Project is to unite the yoga community from every continent in the world, forming a “mala around the earth” through collective practices based upon the sacred cycle of 108. Here in Raleigh, Evolve, Gateway and Blue Lotus yoga studios are coming together to offer a weekend of special Global Mala events! Rise up and participate in this opportunity to experience yoga as peace in action.
In exchange for all Global Mala events we are asking for a by-class donation of $9-$18 or a weekend Deva Donation of $108. All proceeds collected from the three studios will go to support Prevent Child Abuse NC - infusing peace directly into our community.
